‘Guitars For Vets’ – In Danny Quinn’s Honor

Danny Quinn was a superbly talented vocalist, guitarist and performer who was taken from us way too soon by an unexpected cerebrovascular event in October 2014.

Danny’s many fans and friends also admired Danny for his humble nature and selfless commitment to helping support beneficent causes, often traveling hundreds of miles to perform at charitable events.  He declined compensation,  incurred his own expense and donated his own money – which he did repeatedly for this foundation.

Danny was particularly dedicated to America’s military servicemen & women and performed benefit concerts for the Wounded Warriors Project at Walter Reed Hospital and veterans groups in his native state of NY.

In Danny’s honor, the Mary Powell Foundation has committed to perpetuate Danny’s commitment to our veterans by sponsoring soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder to go through a program called Guitars For Vets. Each participant – referred by Veteran’s Administration healthcare providers – is given free guitar lessons and upon graduation, a new acoustic guitar and ‘kit’.

Danny knew the healing power of music and in his name, we are proud to  continue his dedication to music and America’s veterans – especially those in need.  Please consider a donation using this link to our donation tab: https://mpfusa.org/donate/ Any modest contribution can help us increase the number of veterans we are able to sponsor in Danny’s name and keep his spirit alive.  You can also visit the Guitars4Vets.org website to learn more about the history and future of this growing non-profit organization, including evidence of how veterans benefit from the therapeutic effects of music and the guitar.
